Introductiontop

At the heart of the day-to-day routine of a Project is the delegation, execution, tracking and return, of the lowest-level units of work for each Phase or Stage. The information about each unit of work will be consolidated, one level at a time, to produce the reports used by the Project Manager to manage the work, and to prepare his/her reports for the Project Management Team.

This Subprocess also sees the preparation for Approval and Acceptance of the item(s) the work unit has produced.

Monitor and Report Work Statustop

To account for what is achieved by his/her Project, a Project Manager will ensure that the delegation, execution, and return, of individual units of work are tracked systematically. The information collected will be recorded in the Project Files, and it will be consolidated, a level at a time, into the reports submitted to the Project Board.

Delegate Worktop

In each Phase Plan, the work to be done will be broken down into a variety of Workpackages and Activities. Some will develop parts of the solution, others will involve the performance of a role. As each person in a Team becomes available to do work (for example by starting his/her assignment, or by completing a previously-assigned Workpackage or Activity), he/she will be given a new assignment. This will include formal delegation of the work.

Do Worktop

As each assignment is made it will be registered as "live", and its progress and expenditure will be tracked and recorded. This will include checks on the quality what is being produced, and where needed, preparation for Acceptance of what is to be delivered.

Receive Completed Worktop

The completion of each assignment will be demonstrated by the satisfaction of a set of objective checks. This will usually require that the item to be delivered meets its Acceptance Criteria, or that a role has been discharged satisfactorily. In the case of an item that is part of the solution to be delivered, the list of deliverables (or the Configuration Item Folder) will be updated. An item that is (or is part of) a contractual deliverable, will eventually be submitted for formal Acceptance.
