Description top

To document your approach to an initiative or a sale

This is the primary document used by an organisation's:

  • Initiative Managers preparing to propose an internal initiative to an End User
  • Opportunity Managers when they are planning a specific sale to an external Customer.

It describes the context of the initiative or sale, and is the document in which they capture as much information as they can about:

  • the situation and objectives of the Prospect,
  • the competitive position
  • the initiative or the commercial opportunity, and the budget needed to Bid for it
  • what sort of solution is likely to be successful
  • whether the bid should be pursued or withdrawn.

The answers to these questions are essential for planning and managing the development of an effective and successful Proposal, in response to an End User's internal requirement or a Customer's RFP/ITT.
